Eligibility
The award is open to all full-time faculty members who teach in the undergraduate programmes of Medicine, Nursing and Pharmacy. Winners are those who are particularly excellent in terms of the criteria stated below, Award recipients are chosen by students and no one else.
CriteriaNominees for the award are particularly excellent in terms of the following criteria:The individual teaching skills; and enthusiasm for the subject matter taught;
The organization of the course;
The clarity of course objectives;
The suitability of material covered in terms of its quantity and quality
Selection ProcessStep 1: Nomination
Each student nominates ONLY ONE teacher whom he/she regards as the most outstanding.Step 2: Voting
Those teachers who are most frequently nominated are put on a list of finalists for final voting by the entire class of each year in the medical, nursing and pharmacy programmes.
ScheduleApril – July: NominationClass representatives collect nomination from students and submit to the Office of Educational Services.Sept – Oct: VotingStudents submit voting ballot to the Office of Educational Services.TBA: The CeremonyOutstanding Teachers of 1996/97
